2D1N at Capella Singapore, Sentosa - Staycation!

This is long overdue! I brought my brother, L. and mum to Capella Singapore for a staycation a few months ago to celebrate L.'s birthday.

We checked into a villa and was picked up from the lobby to our room by a buggy. In fact, you could call for a buggy service any time of the day to go to anywhere within the Capella vicinity. Perfect for a staycation/vacation, where you really just don't want to do anything (cue: Bruno Mars' song).

Service prior to check in was really awesome too. The service staff checked with me if we were going to celebrate anything special while we're there. When told that it was my brother's birthday, they prepared a (very yummy) cake for us, that was sent to the room shortly after we arrived. And of course, L. got some birthday greetings from the staff when we were there too.

I was very impressed with the villa too - it's split into three parts: a living room area, where there's a TV, sofa, coffee and food area, dining table, bedroom, with another TV and an outdoor pool, and a huge bathroom.

After admiring the room and lazing around for a bit, we set off to do our own things that afternoon - Mum chose to chill in the room over Nespresso (yes, there's a Nespresso machine in the room!) and TV, L. went for a swim and I checked into Auriga Spa for a body treatment. Click to read my review of the treatment.

Here are pictures of the very inviting swimming pool:

Evening fell and we made dinner plans. We had initially wanted to go for Italian and so we visited Il Lido, located at the Sentosa Golf Club. But the venue was booked for a wedding and we had to be turned away :(

We took the shuttle bus and settled for Anar at RWS instead. It is an Arabic restaurant that has a really good ambience. We were seated outdoors, but there was actually a really good belly dancer inside the restaurant.

Food was really awesome too. I was initially worried that we may not like Arabic food - but hey, it was very, very good.

Portions are really huge too. We ordered three main courses to share, and a dessert to end off the meal, but I really think we could have went with just two main courses.

We could see fireworks from USS from the restaurant too - which made a really nice surprise for us!

We woke up the next morning and headed to Knolls, located in Capella too, for buffet breakfast.

I must say selections aren't fantastic, but quality isn't too bad. Service wasn't anything to shout about, though. So, if you ask me, I won't return for the $50 breakfast. I'd rather venture somewhere else in Sentosa.

Overall, the staycation was definitely a very rejuvenating and pampering experience, and I will certainly recommend it for those who are craving for a short getaway. And since Capella is located in Sentosa, it means that you're really away from the hustle and bustle and be able to really take a break from city life. What's more with the integrated resort, beaches and other holiday spots in Sentosa, it means that you'd not be bored by inactivity.
